Abstract
Bipyridine-type ligands, where two didentate units are connected through a chiral bridge to form tetradentate chelators (CHIRAGEN-type ligands), yield in self assembling reactions with labile metal centers (AgI and CuI), circular helical species with predetermined configurations.
