Abstract
The complexes [Ti(L1, L2 or L3)Cl3], [M(L1, L2, or L4)2Cl2] (M = Zr or Hf), [M(L3)Cl3], [Mâ²(L1)3(THF)] (Mâ²Â = La, Ce or Yb), [Sn(L2)Cl] and [Fe(L2)2] have been prepared from the appropriate homoleptic metal chloride (or FeBr2) by an Si(X)Me3 - elimination route (X = Cl, or Br for Fe), and characterised by microanalysis, NMR and mass spectra and for [La(L1)3(THF)] by an X-ray structure. [η5-C5H4-BO2C6H4-1,2]â = L1 ; L2 and L3 are the 4-But and 3,5-But2 analogues; [μ-η5-C5H3(BO2C6H4-1,2)2SiMe2]2â = L4.
