Abstract
Poly-hexafluoropropylene oxide (poly-HFPO) alcohol was prepared by the reduction of poly-HFPO methyl ester as shown in Eq. (1). The poly-HFPO alcohol sodium salt was prepared from the reaction of the poly-hexafluoropropylene oxide (poly-HFPO) alcohol with sodium hydride. This poly-HFPO alcohol sodium salt behaved like a normal hydrocarbon alkoxide. The nucleophilic attack of this salt on acetyl chloride and allyl chloride (or bromide) made the expected products, Eqs. (2) and (3). Their spectroscopic data and one derivative compound are discussed.
