Abstract
80 enzymes have been screened for their ability to hydrolyze SiOC bonds and/or condense SiOH bonds to form siloxanes. Of these only the following enzymes catalyzed the condensation in aqueous solution; Aspergillus ficuum phytase, Aspergillus niger phytase, chicken egg white lysozyme, porcine gastric mucosa pepsin, and Rhizopus oryzae lipase.
