Abstract
Ba3La3Mn2W3O18 was synthesized in reduced atmosphere. It crystallizes in rhombohedral space group R3¯m with the cell parameters, a=5.7371(1)Ã
and c=41.8336(5)Ã
. And it can be attributed to the n=6 member in the B-site-deficient perovskite family of AnBnâ1O3n with layered structure. The magnetic and optical properties are compared with Ba2La2MnW2O12, the n=4 member in the AnBnâ1O3n perovskite family.
