Abstract
Axially chiral bis(arylthiourea)-based organocatalyst 6b, prepared from (R)-(+)-5,5â²,6,6â²,7,7â²,8,8â²-octahydro-1,1â²-binaphthyl-2,2â²-diamine, was found to be an effective chiral organocatalyst for the enantioselective Henry reaction of arylaldehydes with nitromethane to give the corresponding adducts in moderate enantioselectivities and good yields.
