Abstract
► Dibenzocyclooctane lignans was studied from the Stems of Schisandra bicolor for the first time and sixteen lignans was reported. ► Phytochemical investigations on Schisandra bicolor led to the isolation of a new dibenzocyclooctane lignan, schisanbicolorin A, based on spectroscopic analysis. ► Eleven lignans were obtained from both S. bicolor and S. chinensis, which may be suggested close genetic relation between them.
