Abstract
► Post-mating females of Pieris rapae began active searching behavior for host plants immediately after mating and had a markedly higher preference for cabbage than lettuce. ► Adult females of Pieris rapae were unable to distinguish between cabbage and lettuce when their olfactory sense was blocked. ► The adult female of Pieris rapae detects host plants using their olfactory sense.
