Abstract
► Cellulose and lignin in mangrove wood are quantified by using FTIR spectroscopy. ► Lignin to cellulose ratio ranges between 0.21 and 1.75 in mangrove wood. ► Mangrove wood density increases with increase in cellulose and decrease in lignin. ► Variation of carbon stock in mangrove is positively related to its wood density. ► Mangrove with high density exhibits higher range of fuel value index.
