Abstract
⺠Planar alginate hydrogels prepared by external gelling method. ⺠Controlled and slow exposure of alginate solution to aerosol of gelling solution. ⺠Dimensional stability and Young's modulus as a function of gelling conditions. ⺠Calcium ions after gelling by aerosol reach the maximum binding capacity. ⺠Principles of classical gelling mechanism of alginates apply for this method.
