Abstract
⺠A biocompatible chitin/poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) blend hydrogel scaffold was developed. ⺠The prepared scaffold showed controlled porosity, swelling and degradation. ⺠The scaffold also showed enhanced protein adsorption and cytocompatibility. ⺠Enhanced Human Dermal Fibroblast cells attachment and proliferation was observed in the scaffold. ⺠Overall, this chitin/poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) blend scaffold can be used for skin tissue engineering.
