Abstract
► A biocompatible chitin/poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) blend hydrogel scaffold was developed. ► The prepared scaffold showed controlled porosity, swelling and degradation. ► The scaffold also showed enhanced protein adsorption and cytocompatibility. ► Enhanced Human Dermal Fibroblast cells attachment and proliferation was observed in the scaffold. ► Overall, this chitin/poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) blend scaffold can be used for skin tissue engineering.
