Abstract
⺠Mannans effectively protect liposomes against OH radicals. ⺠Mannans and glucans do not scavenge DPPH radicals. ⺠Protection is not caused by polysaccharides as scavengers of free radicals. ⺠Polysaccharides coat liposomes by strong nonspecific interactions. ⺠Coating shield protects liposomes against oxidation by OH radicals.
