Abstract
⺠A 40 kDa chitinase was purified from culture medium of a Strepromyces species. ⺠The N-terminal sequence was highly homologous to the GH-18 conserved domain. ⺠It showed good thermal and pH stability. ⺠It displayed potentials for future use of chitinolytic and antifungal properties.
