Abstract
⺠Dry hydroxypropylated, refined cellulose forms transparent paper at certain degree of substitution. ⺠Hydroxypropylation also improves paper elongation. ⺠Esterification of cellulose is effective if water is removed thoroughly. ⺠Esterification renders the cellulose very hydrophobic.
