Abstract
⺠Hydrogels are prepared from functionalized Xanthan or Gellan and NIPAm. ⺠LCST close to body temperature is determined for these hydrogels. ⺠Polysaccharide backbone has an influence on LCST, swelling properties. ⺠Chain stiffness, charge density and ability to form hydrogen interactions influence properties. ⺠Hydrogels are candidates for biomedical applications.
