Abstract
- Starch nanoparticles were organically modified at room temperature.
- Hydrophobic starch derivatives were used to prepare bionanocomposites of natural rubber by mastication process.
- Bionanocomposites exhibited excellent mechanical properties and reasonable thermal stability at 30Â phr filler loading.
- Broad tan delta peak in dynamic mechanical analysis suggested potential application as vibration damping materials.
- Organically modified starch nanoparticles could be a green substitute for carbon black as reinforcing agents.
