Abstract
- PEC of N,N,N-trimethyl chitosan (TMC) and heparin (HP) were obtained at pHs 5, 8, 10 and 12.
- Electrostatic forces driven the PEC formation that are dependant of pH.
- Thermal stability of PECs increases as the pH of forming solution is increased.
- WAXS profiles show that the PEC crystallinity depends on the pH used for PEC preparation.
- At higher pHs the unlike polymers chains (TMC and HP) are close enough to produce more stable PECs.
