Abstract
⺠Alkali treatments are found to reduce the pore size in lyocell fibers. ⺠This reduces accessibility to chemical reagents and affects future chemical processing steps. ⺠Similar changes are not observed with viscose fibers. ⺠The differences between the fiber types are attributed to their inherent structural differences.
