Abstract
► Ultrasound irradiation is examined to enhance cellulose dissolution in [C4mim]Cl. ► Increasing ultrasound power and irradiation time will decrease dissolution time. ► Most crystalline structure of cellulose is destroyed to amorphous structure. ► The remained crystalline structure of cellulose is converted to cellulose II. ► Thermal stability of regenerated cellulose decreases and pyrolysis residues increase.
