Abstract
► Dialdehyde celluloses and carboxy and Schiff's bases were hydrolyzed by cellulases. ► Dialdehyde celluloses showed lower extent of hydrolysis. ► Dicarboxy celluloses and dialkylimine cellulose showed higher extent of hydrolysis. ► Dioxime cellulose derivative hydrolyzes only up to 16.3%. ► Dihydrazone celluloses showed resistance towards enzymatic hydrolysis.
