Abstract
												⺠Biodegradable and bio-based membranes with the capacity to carry hydrophobicmolecules have been developed. ⺠Developed membranes will enable new applications for biopolymers in the food and pharmaceutical packaging area. ⺠Properties of the β-CD/PLA blends decreased with higher β-CD contents and revealed that β-CDs and PLA are incompatible. ⺠The addition of β-CDs in the form of a masterbatch notably improved most of the properties of the β-CD/PLA blends. ⺠The addition of β-CDs in the form of a masterbatch increased the compatibility of the PLA and the β-CDs.
