Abstract
⺠Nanocomposites based on pure pectins and antimicrobial molecules were prepared. ⺠Active molecules were anchored to double layered hydroxides by ionic bonds. ⺠The processing used was high energy ball milling in the presence of water. ⺠All nanocomposites presented exfoliation of the fillers. ⺠Thermal, mechanical and barrier properties were improved and showed a dependence from the intercalated molecule.
