Abstract
⺠A novel hemicellulosic derivative possessing hydrophobic groups was prepared. ⺠The benzylation of hemicelluloses with benzyl chloride was discussed. ⺠Benzylated hemicelluloses with low DS (0.09-0.35) were obtained. ⺠The thermal stability increased after the modification of hemicelluloses.
