Abstract
► The RC/MMT nanocomposite films were prepared via ionic liquid, BMIMCl. ► X-ray Diffraction patterns revealed well dispersed MMT in cellulose matrix. ► Addition of MMT enhanced thermal and mechanical properties of RC. ► Gas permeability and water absorption rate of RC decreased by addition of MMT.
