Abstract
⺠Composite chitosan magnetic particles prepared by an original method were evaluated as a new radiocation adsorbent. ⺠The material has superior adsorption capacity both for uranyl (667 mg/g) and thorium (313 mg/g) ions. ⺠Radiocation adsorption is spontaneous and endothermic ⺠Both ions may be recovered to the extent of over 80%. ⺠This adsorbent is a good low-cost candidate for applications in wastewater decontamination.
