Abstract
► Nanosilica at low concentration strongly interacts with CMG. ► These gels are physico-rheologically stronger. ► They are hydrophobic and encapsulate more diclofenac sodium. ► Higher nanosilica produces more hydrophilic and weaker gels with CMG. ► Former set of gels give slow but sustained release as compared to the later.
