Abstract
⺠Paper tube residual was investigated as a potential raw material for ethanol production. ⺠The chemical compositions of paper tube residuals were determined. ⺠The effects of two pretreatment methods on the enzymatic hydrolysis and SSF were studied. ⺠Pretreatment with concentrate phosphoric acid was found as an appropriate method for maximum ethanol production. ⺠Under optimal condition, 308 ml ethanol per kg paper tube could be produced.
