Abstract
⺠Newly identified fabrics from the tree Cordia dichotoma were extracted. ⺠Chemical composition studies showed that the alkali treated fabrics contain α-cellulose â¼77.8%. ⺠The crystallinity of the fabrics increased upon alkali treatment compared to bleached and untreated fabrics. ⺠The alkali treated fabrics exhibited the highest tensile strength compared to the untreated and bleached fabrics. ⺠The structure and properties of the fabrics indicated that they could be suitable for the development of green composites.
