Abstract
► Thermal study of natural and modified hydrogels from plant materials. ► Carboxymethylation generally results in higher thermal stability. ► Cross-linking of hydrogel from ispaghula husk results in lower water retention. ► Cross-linking does not affect thermal stability significantly. ► Thermal stability of the materials was comparable with materials like HPMC.
