Abstract
We describe a semi-synthetic approach where the lipid acceptor is derived from the archaeon Halobacterium salinarum, and the glycosyl donors are chemically synthesized. Two new glycosylation conditions are described for thio sugars. These glycolipids in the presence of the archaeal-derived PGP-Me make good liposomal adjuvants including good CD8+ T-cell activation.
