Abstract
A comparative study on the lamellar morphology of a collection of polyethylene foam (LDPE) has been performed in order to obtain a better understanding of the morphology of the crystalline phase of these materials. The lamellar structure was measured by small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) and Raman spectroscopy. The results have shown that the lamellar structure of the foams is different to that of a LDPE solid sheet. Moreover, the different sensitivity of the three experimental techniques to the lamellar structure has also been analyzed.
