Abstract
A conducting layer using carbon nanotube (CNT) paste was prepared by mixing multi-walled CNT (MWNT), organic vehicles and spin on glass (SOG). The effect of SOG on the properties of the CNT paste was evaluated and compared to that of CNT paste with a glass frit. CNT powders were coated on the conducting CNT film either by sprinkling CNT powders onto the overall conducting layer area or by dropping a solution containing well dispersed CNTs. CNTs were strongly fixed by the formation of silica after heat treatment. The samples showed good field emission characteristics with turn-on electric fields of approximately 1.6 ∼ 2.2 V/μm. SOG was found to be an efficient inorganic binder for CNTs in the CNT paste.
