Abstract
⺠Calcium phosphate powders are obtained from the crushed shells of 2 “marine” species & H3PO4. ⺠Chemical transformation into calcium phosphates by hotplate and ultrasound methods ⺠The obtained calcium phosphate crystalline phases depend on shell type. ⺠Whitlockite developed in heat treated powders is a desirable phase for bone repair.
