Abstract
⺠The corrosion resistance of Nitinol is dependent on the surface preparation. ⺠Ground samples are susceptible to localized corrosion attack. ⺠Polished and chemically etched samples improve the resistance to localized corrosion. ⺠Surface preparation affects the topographical, morphological and chemical properties of the Nitinol surface. ⺠The behaviour of Nitinol in simulated physiological solution is dependent on pH.
