Abstract
⺠Ti-Mo alloys for orthopedic applications produced by variable powder feed rate laser cladding. ⺠We examine changes in morphology, phase, Young's modulus and hardness at each composition. ⺠Below 8 wt.% Mo, both martensite and β Ti phases are present. ⺠Ti-Mo alloys with above 8 wt.% Mo consist entirely of β phase. ⺠The alloy with 13 wt.% Mo has the lowest Young's modulus (70 GPa).
