Abstract
âºOblique angle oxygen ion etching creates a high quality, uniform oxide surface. âºOxygen etched substrates showed fewer adhered platelets. âºPlatelet activation was reduced by the improved oxide surface. âºOxygen etched substrates exhibited increased whole blood clotting times. âºAlthough clotting reductions were seen, protein adsorption remained similar.
