Abstract
► Modified silane was used on Mg-4Y for biological applications. ► Modified silane-treated Mg-4Y increased its corrosion resistance in both In Vitro and In Vivo environments. ► In Vitro testing environment is not consistent with In Vivo animal environment. ► The modified silane mixture protecting mechanisms and its biocompatibility were discussed. ► A novel three-electrode corrosion-monitoring probe was developed for realizing this work's In Vivo testing goals.
