Abstract
⺠β-TCP/Mg-3Zn-Ca composite was produced using a novel melt shear technology. ⺠Melt shear technology can improve the uniformity distribution of the β-TCP particles. ⺠Microstructure evolution during solidification process for composite was analysed. ⺠Mechanical properties of 1 wt.% β-TCP/Mg-3Zn-1Ca composites were tested. ⺠β-TCP/Mg-3Zn-1Ca composite is a candidate for biodegradable implant materials.
