► Feathers are inexpensive, abundant, renewable and indigenous sources to develop thermoplastics ► Simple alkaline hydrolysis and crosslinking with citric acid were used to develop thermoplastic feather films ► Thermoplastic feather films have good tensile properties but need crosslinking to be stable at high humidities. ► Films developed are biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
