Abstract
⺠We developed a new sol-gel route for synthesis of bulk calcium silicate bioceramics. ⺠Ceramics offer low solubility and good mechanical strength for long-term implantation. ⺠The catalyst has the strongest influence on the ceramic structure and properties. ⺠Simulated body fluid studies confirmed the bioactive nature of these calcium silicate ceramics.
