Abstract
⺠Glass-ceramic scaffolds are proposed as trabecular coatings on prosthetic devices. ⺠Trabecular coatings are fabricated and characterized on flat geometry. ⺠The system is modeled by a novel approach based on quantized fracture mechanics. ⺠The model allows to estimate the bonding strength of trabecular coatings. ⺠The model is helpful to properly design the bonding strength of biomaterials.
