Abstract
⺠We have developed a combination of plasma-based ion implantation and ion beam sputter deposition technique. ⺠Silver-doped hydroxyapatite thin films on titanium were developed. ⺠The thin films showed the ability to control the concentration of silver that is doped within the hydroxyapatite film. ⺠The thin films maintained a uniform and evenly distributed silver across the entire surface. ⺠The thin films were able to control bacterial growth on the surface.
