⺠Extended (six month) release study of antibiotics with different water solubility. ⺠Physiochemical nature of polymer matrix, drug; affects release of drug from matrix. ⺠Release of hydrophilic drugs mainly controlled by diffusion, not by degradation. ⺠Degradation primarily controls release of lipophillic, poor water soluble drugs.
