Abstract
⺠We have investigated the adsorption and corrosion inhibition of caffeine on copper surfaces. ⺠Caffeine behaves as a cathodic-type inhibitor. ⺠Caffeine adsorbs onto copper surface according to Temkin isotherm. ⺠There exists the formation of a hydrophobic film that acts as a protective barrier. ⺠This corrosion inhibitor covers up to 72% of the total active surface of copper.
