Abstract
⺠All mutations disrupt structure and bonding pattern and reduce strength of the collagen fibrils. ⺠Gly based mutations are worst to mechanical integrity of fibrils than that of Hyp. ⺠Lys and Arg mutations most dramatically destabilize collagen fibril properties. ⺠Clinical outcome of mutations may be related to the reduced mechanical properties of fibrils.
