Abstract
⺠A theoretical model is developed to describe how a layer of solid particles stabilises a gas bubble. ⺠The particles reduce the rate of dissolution by lowering diffusivity and interfacial tension. ⺠Bubbles maintain a stable radius once a critical particle concentration has been reached. ⺠The simulations are in agreement with experimental observations.
