Abstract
► A theoretical model is developed to describe how a layer of solid particles stabilises a gas bubble. ► The particles reduce the rate of dissolution by lowering diffusivity and interfacial tension. ► Bubbles maintain a stable radius once a critical particle concentration has been reached. ► The simulations are in agreement with experimental observations.
