Abstract
Composites are today under siege from factors ranging from rising raw materials and energy costs, to caps on styrene emissions, from health and safety rules to waste legislation and limits on landfill. In the important automotive sector, arguably the biggest current threat is the European Union (EU)'s End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) Directive, which effectively starts to bite this year. George Marsh reports.
