Abstract
PMN-PT is one of the most promising relaxor materials. In the current study, materials are synthesized by solid state columbite route. The X-ray diffraction patterns confirmed single phase formation i.e. perovskite in a material. The average crystallite size is estimated from prominent diffraction peaks by using Debye-Scherrer equation which is found to be 26.30 nm and 37.68 nm, for samples sintered at 1100 and 1150 °C respectively. Optical properties such as absorption, optical energy gap, refractive index, extinction coefficient, optical conductivity and dielectric constant are studied by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy at room temperature.
