Abstract
In this study, intermediate temperature ionic conducting Ti0.95Al0.05P2O7 sample was prepared by a solid state reaction. The variation of conductivity as a function of atmosphere, temperature (100-300 °C) and the pO2 pressure were studied. The highest conductivities of Ti0.95Al0.05P2O7 sample are observed in dry air atmosphere to be 1.2Ã10â3 S cmâ1 at 175 °C and in wet air atmosphere (pH2O=3.2Ã103 Pa) to be 4.7Ã10â3 S cmâ1 at 150 °C, respectively. The log Ï~log (pO2) plot result indicates that Ti0.95Al0.05P2O7 is almost a pure ionic conductor under oxidizing conditions and a mixed conductor of ion and electron under reducing conditions.
