Abstract
MnO2 and Y2O3 co-doped Ba0.95Ca0.05Ti0.85Zr0.15O3 dielectric ceramics with excellent performance were fabricated using a conventional solid-state reaction method. The doping effects of various amounts of MnO2 on the electrical and dielectric properties were studied. The results revealed that the electrical and dielectric properties greatly depended on the concentration of MnO2. The specimen containing the appropriate amount, 0.15 wt%, of MnO2 exhibited the most outstanding properties: high permittivity (over 10,000), excellent temperature coefficient of capacitance (TCC) performance, the lowest dielectric loss (less than 1%), improved reliability and good capacitance stability. However, a high concentration of MnO2 deteriorated the performance of the ceramic capacitors because of increasing of oxygen vacancies and associated defects.
